Iceland's Natural Beauty: A Traveler's Guide
Iceland is a nation renowned for its extraordinary landscapes and breathtaking natural beauty. Iceland offers a singular travel experience with its glaciers, geysers, hot springs, and waterfalls. Iceland is the ideal location for you, whether you're seeking for adventure or just want to take in some of the most stunning scenery on earth.
How to Travel to Iceland:
There are plenty of land options and escorted tours if you would like to spend more than two days in Iceland. You can also consider a cruise (seasonal) that will stop for a day or so in Iceland along it's itinerary. We recently were onboard Norwegian Prima for the Transatlantic voyage from Southampton to New York and spent 2 days in Iceland. We opted for a private tour for our group during the day, and we sailed out in the evening to try and catch the Northern Lights. It was an amazing place to visit, and we will definitely go back!
When to Travel:
The best time to visit Iceland depends on what you want to see and do, although it can be visited all year long. The greatest time to explore the nation's picturesque landscapes is during the summer months of June through August because they are the warmest and have the longest daylight hours. The Northern Lights may be viewed and Iceland's distinctive winter sports can be enjoyed during the winter, making it a fantastic time to travel there.
Moving About:
Due to Iceland's well-developed road system, renting a car is a common and practical means of getting across the nation. There are many tour options available if you don't feel comfortable driving, including bus tours and guided day trips. Additionally, Iceland boasts an efficient public transportation system that includes aircraft and buses that connect the nation's outlying regions with the capital city of Reykjavik.
What to See and Do:
There are many interesting and unusual things to see and do in Iceland. Among the most popular attractions are:
The Northern Lights: Iceland is one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights, and the best time to see them is from September to April.

The Golden Circle is a well-known tour route that takes you to some of Iceland's most famous landmarks, including the Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir hot springs, and the Gullfoss waterfall.
The Blue Lagoon: Anyone visiting Iceland should be sure to stop at this famous geothermal spa. Enjoy the lagoon's warm waters while taking in the breathtaking surroundings.
The Glaciers: The Vatnajokull and Langjokull glaciers, two of the most stunning in the world, may be found in Iceland. For a closer look at these breathtaking natural beauties, go on a hike or guided tour.
Food and Drink:
Grilled salmon, cod, and lobster are just a few of the delectable delicacies you may sample in Iceland, which is recognized for its fresh, high-quality seafood. The nation is renowned for its distinctive dairy goods as well, especially skyr, a thick, yogurt-like dairy item. In addition, there are many local brewers and bars to discover in Iceland, which has a developing craft beer culture.
